Welcome to The Community
CalmPound!

My name is Joe Pearson, also known as Farmer Joe, and I am the founder and creator of this new passion project in Weeki Wachee, Florida (Hernando County). The Community Calm-Pound is the continuation of a dream I began over a decade ago. For over 10 years, starting in 2008, I had the privilege of serving Southwest Florida (Lee and Collier County) as the founder of Healthy Harvest Community Farms. Our non-profit worked tirelessly with schools, community organizations, and the public, teaching essential skills like how to plant, harvest, and prepare healthy foods. We not only educated our neighbors but also provided nourishing, healthy foods from our farms to local food distribution and preparation facilities. Healthy Harvest was a place for learning, with gardening and fitness classes, but also a space for relaxation and community connection. Now, with the purchase of 2.5 beautiful acres in Weeki Wachee, I have been blessed with the opportunity to bring that vital work back to the community through The Community Calm-Pound.

Our mission is as clear as ever: to create a refuge that fosters health, education, and community, especially in today's market where food quality is often poor and prices are too high. We are dedicated to growing quality food, sharing knowledge, and building a network of support. Are you a like-minded individual eager to participate, volunteer, or simply learn more about our goals?
